　お陰様で、昨年の観梅会も、お客様から「青輝園の梅は古くて大きく、伝
統的で見応えがあった」等々、沢山のご好評を賜りました。
　また、不景気にもかかわらず、安近短が人気で昨年の入場者数も記録を更

2.私達は日本及び外国の皆様のご来園を歓迎致します。
We welcome Japan to come to see a bonsai,
and a foreign gust.

盆栽とは?
　盆栽とは薄いお盆の上に石を置き、木や草を植えた物?
中国ではたいへん古い時代に始まり、日本では遠く平安時代頃に始まります。
その頃は盆景と呼ばれ、薄い盆の中に大自然を縮小し、身近に置き、その中
で我が心を遊ばせる。つまり、私達が子供の頃作って遊んだ箱庭と同じです。
小さな箱の中に山、川、海、が有り、大木が天にそびえ立ち、その山には吹く
風が見え、大木の梢には鳥のさえずりさえ聞けます。盆栽とは子供の頃の箱
庭、大人バージョンとも言えるかも知れません。

現代社会の中で伝統芸術としての盆栽
　盆栽、それは遠く平安時代に始まった日本の伝統芸術です。
　昨今、世の中の急激な変化、近代化の中で、古い日本の良き伝統が影を潜
めつつあります。確かに生活様式の変化、IT化の中で、昔に比べて便利で住
良い時代です。しかしその背後には不況、生産拠点としての日本の空洞化、
等、色々な問題を抱えています。物は豊かで、生活は便利ですが、心の余裕
についてはどうでしょうか。流行に流され、自然や、身近な物、伝統芸術等に
目を向ける余裕が有るのでしょうか。
　私達、園芸関係でも今日本では外国のガーデニングブームです。外国では
盆栽がブームとも聞いています。異文化交流と言う面ではたいへん良いことだ
と思います。
　私は日本に生まれ、日本で育ってきました。現代社会の中で新しい物を取り
入れて発展していくことは大切だと思います。しかし、それと同時に日本固有
の文化、古き良き伝統にも目を向けていくことも大切ではないでしょうか。新し
さを追求するあまり、気づいた時には良き日本の伝統が無くなっていたと言う
ことがないように。

盆栽の今後の発展、伝承
　私達は盆栽を日本の伝統芸術としてとらえ、「盆栽」を広く内外の人達に深く
理解していただきたいと考えます。国内はもちろん、外国の皆様のご来園を歓
迎いたします。
　また、「盆栽」をより良く理解していただくためにも、今後様々な努力をしてい
かなければならないと考えます。

OZASHIKIBAIRIN SEIKIEN IS THE GARDEN OF THE BONSAI.

We heartily welcome many tourists from abroad.

We explain a little about bonsai. Bonsai is miniature potted tree or plant, and
it seems like a big tree in the nature even in tha little flowerpot.

History of the bonsai.
In Japan,trees and grass planted in the flowerpots are put in the garden, to
enjoy the elegance of grand scenery and nature. It is said that its history in
Japan dates back about 1200.A.D.

"With the yang tree, several-years" "With the old tree, several hundred
yeras" is necessary to grow a bonsai. It is the work, wich taks much time.

Many several hundred-years bonsai are displayed in our gerden,
Bonsai is Japanese traditition art. It is thought the good opportunity when
it has Japan known more deeply.

We hope you enjoy Japanese art as long as you like.

4. OZASHIKIBAIRIN SEIKIEN

OZASHIKIBAIRIN SEIKIEN is old, and it is the garden of the precious
bonsai.
OZASHIKIBAIRIN. Japanese apricot of bonsai displayd in the room.
Exhibition season. Every year,(From the end of January through the
beginning of March).
A little luxurious flower viewing intoxicated, by good old Japanese
tradition.
There are many kinds of bonsai in the huge site of SEIKIEN, which is well
knon on TV, and so on.
We display very rare and old Japanese apricot bonsai, the pine of 5 leaves, a
super large bonsai, and the big bonsai of the size 2m and more of the
flowerpot for instans.
Also, there are some sxhibition halls of the old Japanese apricot bonsai and
the large bonsai, a rest station and souvenir shop.
SEIKIEN is a famous tourist in which it is worth visiting.
With value to see by all means once, the tourist spot of Japan.

History of SEIKIEN. Age 200-year old bonsai that is exhibited here shows
the history of SEIKIEN. Its history dates back about 1700.A.D.
In those days, it was known by the name of HISHIYA, and it is said that it
was the gardener of the local load. In the Meiji year, a present name
SEIKIEN appeared.
At that time, we had mainly produced the seeding of the fruit tree and the
garden tree. Not only Japanese tourists but also many foreign tourists come
to see bonsai evry year.

Admisson fee. "Japanese currency" 500 yen per person (high scool student
or older). Group 400 yen per person (more than 10 people).
